Announcing the release of four new editions of Gem Trek maps: Canadian Rockies (12th edition), Southwest Alberta and Southeast British Columbia (7th edition), Southwest British Columbia and Northern Washington (4th edition) and Lake O’Hara (5th edition). All four maps are printed on a sturdy 60lb stock by Premier Printers in Winnipeg. We had to cancel our press check due to travel restrictions, but worked remotely to ensure colours were perfect.
We spent last winter working with a designer to redraw all Gem Trek symbols and styles of map features such as roads. These four maps are the first to feature the new symbols, which we will introduce across the entire map set as new editions are published.
We often get asked why our Lake O’Hara Map is not printed on waterproof paper. The reason is one of economics – our two main customers for this map are Lake O’Hara Lodge, which supplies this map to their guests, and the Lake O’Hara Trail Club, which sells the map up at their concession, and both prefer the lower price point of regular paper.
